Privacy policy

BusinessMaxx is operated by APEG Group Pty Ltd. This page explains how we handle personal information when you use the site. It is written for the Australian Privacy Principles. If you have questions, email businessmaxxoz@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Account details: email address and name used to sign in.
• Business listing details, including ABN and contact details. Contact details and ranking scores are published on purpose so customers can reach you directly.
• Usage analytics for listings, such as impressions, clicks and contact reveals, stored in aggregated form per listing.
• Technical logs needed to run and secure the service (for example request and error logs).

Why we collect it

We use this information to create and manage accounts, publish and rank listings, process credit purchases when card payments are enabled, show owners how their listing is performing, prevent abuse, and communicate about the service (including support and approval decisions).

Who we disclose it to

We use service providers to operate BusinessMaxx:

• Supabase — database and authentication.
• Vercel — hosting.
• Google — optional sign-in, when you choose to use it.
• Australian Business Register ABN Lookup — to verify business details you supply.
• Stripe — card payments, when that option is enabled.
• OpenRouter and its model providers — natural-language search text, when that feature is enabled. We do not store that search text ourselves.

Listing contact details are also visible to anyone who views a public list or business page.

Cookies and session

We use cookies and similar session storage to keep you signed in, protect forms, and remember what we need to run the site. You can block cookies in your browser, but then sign-in and some features will not work.

Retention

Analytics events are retained for 13 months. Financial ledger records of credit purchases, spends and related entries are retained for as long as we are required to keep them. Account and listing information is kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can handle disputes and legal duties.

Access and correction

You can update much of your listing from the dashboard. To access or correct other personal information we hold, email businessmaxxoz@gmail.com.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at the email above and we will look into it. You may also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) about a possible interference with your privacy under the Australian Privacy Principles.
